4 Facts About Eid!

  1. Breakfast before the special prayer 


It’s sunnah to eat (in general) before going to Eid Al-Fitr prayer, and is sunnah to eat dates especially, as Prophet Muhammad used to eat something sweet before offering his prayers.

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of `Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas also narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to eat odd number of dates

2.Public Holiday

In Muslim countries Eid is an official public holiday that lasts for three days.

3.The Eid Prayer

A special prayer we do on eid called “salat al eid”. Then after the prayer the Khutbah starts.

Muslims give charity also known as Zakat-ul-Fitr which is collected and given to Muslims who are poor or in need.

We used to take out the Zakat of Fitr in three kinds, cheese, dates and barley.
